Sustainability

Made with Nature in Mind

At The Maye', sustainability begins with thoughtful choices — in the materials we use, the way our bags are made, and the value we place on craftsmanship.

Our woven bags are handcrafted in Vietnam using natural fibers, including water hyacinth, paired with carefully selected leather and linen details. The natural fibers are prepared, dried, and woven by skilled artisans using traditional techniques that rely on time, experience, and the human hand.

Made by Hand, Made with Purpose

We believe there is value in making things more thoughtfully.

Each woven bag takes hours to shape by hand, followed by careful assembly, finishing, and quality inspection. This slower process allows us to focus on craftsmanship and create pieces designed to be used beyond a single season.

Natural variations in color, texture, and weave are part of this process. Rather than trying to make every piece look exactly the same, we celebrate the character that comes from natural materials and handcraft.

Supporting Traditional Craftsmanship

Our bags are made in Vietnam by skilled makers with experience in traditional weaving techniques.

By bringing these techniques into contemporary designs, we hope to help preserve the value of artisanal craftsmanship while creating pieces that feel relevant to modern life.

Designed to Stay With You

For us, sustainability is also about creating pieces worth keeping.

We focus on timeless shapes, practical design, and quality materials rather than short-lived trends. Our goal is simple: to create bags you can carry often, style in different ways, and enjoy for years to come.

Thoughtfully made. Naturally distinctive. Designed to last beyond the season
